Race 1 Review: Twin Ring Motegi 06/03/2012Race Notes: Race one - excitement, anticipation, new cars, new drivers. BudLightRacing (BLR) set quick time followed by Mulder 8486 and Crashinu. In all thirteen drivers took to the grid, and after three bad starts that had pretty big crashes a new approach was needed. To insure a good start for our final attempt, a one-second roll off was used, and it worked. Raisedbyllamas (Llamas) took off to an early lead, putting a fair amount of room between himself and NghtFox17. Meanwhile BLR was making his way through the field, slowly but steadily, while Mulder wasn't able to move up as well. There was a lot of contact throughout the field and most cars had some damage. CBR Rogue D90 and GSW Knuckle took the most damage and had to pit. AtticusTubro27 also took heavier damage in traffic. BLR finally caught and quickly passed Llamas about two-thirds of the way through the race, while Mulder moved into third after racing hard with Crashinu. Because the field was more than twelve drivers, it was an hour long event that proved to be quite an event. BLR won the race with maximum points, followed by Llamas and Mulder. The racing throughout the field really was quite good, but there were certainly times when excessive contact detracted from the good racing.

Race 2 Review: Suzuka Circuit - June 10th 2012Race Notes: I, Mulder 8486, experienced an internet connection issue and was booted into my own lobby during lap two. There were some dirty qualifying laps that moved some of drivers to the back of the field, and the race itself went quite smoothly. Overall it was a good race, but I don't have much information - sorry! So, we'll hope for a better race three connection...

Race 3 Review: Sebring International Raceway - June 24th 2012Race Notes: Race three of the season was really a good race with a lot of competitive, clean racing. BudLightRacing (BLR) took fast time in qualifying followed by Mulder 8486 and GR1M RACER. At the start of the race FunnelcakeRUs took off to a healthy lead and set into a nice pace. GR1M was making good progress through the field before hitting the inside wall of turn one, causing a fair amount of damage. Mulder carefully made his way through the field with BLR in tow and by midway through the race the two caught and passed FunnelcakeRUs and three maintained those positions throughout the rest of the race. The racing in the middle of the pack featured a lot of action, as indicated by the close lap times. Overall is was really great racing, one of the best we've had at SOR. Thanks to everyone for making it a really fun race.

Race 4 Review: Infineon Raceway Long Course - July 1st 2012RACE NOTES: The challenging and twisty Infineon Raceway capped of the American leg of the GT Series with race four. Mulder 8486 edged out GR1M RACER by 0.020 seconds to take fast time in qualifying, with BudLightRacing (BLR) taking third, only about a tenth slower. With only six driver in the field there was a mad dash to get up front and hold position. At the end of lap one GR1M made his way to the front but couldn't shake BLR, while Mulder was stuck well behind in third place after going off track. With only a handful of laps left BLR passed GR1M in turn one but GR1M shoved his way back into the lead in the first hairpin. As the two continued to battle Mulder quickly caught and passed BLR but couldn't get away. The two continued to race hard until contact leading onto the front straight forced BLR wide into the wall. With only two laps remaining GR1M extended his lead and went to win while leading every single lap. Mulder barely held off BLR to take second, while the rest of the field was fairly spread out. The race distance was shortened to about a half hour from the usual distance because of the small field.

Race 5 Review: Hockenheimring - July 15th 2012RACE NOTES: Race five was really tough, door-to-door event at the front of the field. Mulder 8486 narrowly took fast time from BudLightRacing (BLR), shaving the points gap down to one lone point going into the race. There were a few altercations right off with Jose804, BLR and Mulder tangling up going into the stadium section. Jose804 was spun out but came back to finish fifth. Midway through the race BLR caught GR1M RACER but was blocked and kept from passing. Eventually the two made contact and went off into the grass on the long straight allowing Mulder and Crashinu to quickly catch them. The last half the race featured a lot of hard racing and contact with BLR finally prying the lead away from GR1M with just a couple laps remaining. Mulder barely held on to second while GR1M and Crashinu took third and forth after making contact through the final turns. With the win BLR pulled out to a five-point lead in the championship over Mulder, while GR1M is locked into third place after qualifying. Every other points position is up for grabs.

Race 6 Review: Silverstone Circuit - July 22nd 2012RACE NOTES: The GT Series finale was quite the race. Scylla Wreckzz made a return to SOR and set fast time in qualifying followed by newcomers Hytporsche69 and PRO_WARRIOR01. The feature race had a lot of hiccups on the first attempts to start the race so again a one-second roll off was used to get a clean start. VETTEMANIA held onto the lead early before Crashinu surged into the lead and took off to a strong lead. Championship leader BudLightRacing (BLR), who started a ways back in the field, made his way into second place and began to hunt down Crashinu. Mulder 8486 held second place briefly before BLR went by and pulled away, putting a damper on his championship hopes. Further back Scylla had problems and dropped out despite running quickly, while Jose804 struggled with his car and also dropped out. WARRIOR01 and Hytporsche made their way up to forth and fifth place setting fast lap times and were catching Mulder before running out of laps. BLR made a few attempts in the last part of the race to pass Crashinu, and even in the turn caught right up Crashinu but couldn't get closer than a few feet right at the finish line. Really an exciting race right down to the last bit, and great close to the championship. BLR added two points to his lead and won by seven over Mulder. GR1M RACER took home third place in the points.
