At SOR we realize that Racing Platforms don’t always have defined racing lines included in ‘valid’ track space. As a result, we use a very easy to understand method of what is and isn’t allowed. You may have no more than 2 wheels off the track surface at any time, except in avoidance or as a result of accidents/contact.
The Racing Surface does include rumble strips and also the run off areas to the outside of the track. However, The inside of a turn may not be run through even though that area is paved because cutting through results in a better, unfair lap time, This will be treated as 'Corner Cutting' and the related penalty will occur.
In Racing Platforms where corner cutting cannot be regulated through the session settings, a post-race penalty will be issued*
Intentional and repeated (ie. more than once) corning cutting will result in a minimum 2 point penalty**.
Forza Motorsport Examples of corner cutting that cannot be regulated in-game.
- In FM4 there are two areas which corner cutting is allowed by the game, but it not permitted within SOR events.
1. At Catalunya International and GP Circuits. Forza Motorsport 4 allows drivers to cut the final chicane without an in-game penalty.
2. At Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Forza Motorsport 4 allows drivers to cut the Pit-Road Exit through turn 1 without an in-game penality.

Therefore if a vehicle's two outside tires cross the outer edge of the inside line making, more than once, penality will occur.
*Does not apply to iRacing, or RaceRoom Racing Experience.
**At SOR the Executive and Leadership Teams have the right, to regulate dangerous or unsportsman like behavior. Therefore depending on the severity and nature of the incident(s): disqualification, and/or removal from the series may occur.
